Southbound, a 5 piece electric/acoustic combo hailing from Derby, UK, are one of the Midland’s most popular Country Rock and Americana bands.
We are inspired by all the great Roots, Country and Rock ‘n’ Roll bands of the last 75 years, and cover songs by artists ranging from Flatt and Scruggs, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Elvis, and the Everly Brothers, to Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Grateful Dead, Old Crow Medicine Show, BR549, Wayne Hancock and beyond.
We are well versed in traditional mountain music featuring fiddle, banjo, mandolin and soaring 3 part harmonies, and add twangy electric guitars and drums into the mix to cover a wide range of material from traditional 40’s Bluegrass to 70’s Country Rock. Think down home Appalachia, Memphis, 50’s Rockabilly and Sweet Home Alabama, rather than modern Nashville pop. Our aim is to get you up dancing with an eclectic and totally rocking set – and we always get asked back for a repeat booking!
